Saadani National Park

In the centre of the historical cities of Bagamoyo, Pangani and Zanzibar. Saadani Game Reserve is one of the few wildlife sanctuaries bordering the sea. It offers the unique combination of both marine and mainland flora and fauna in a historically and culturally fascinating setting. Animals have been rumored to bathe in the Indian Ocean off the Reserve’s coast, green turtles comes to its beaches to breed, black and white colobus monkey frolic in the canopy of the evergreen Zaraninge Forest.

Generally the park is accessible all year round, but the access roads are sometimes impossible during April and May. The best game viewing is in January-February and from June-August. Charter flights can be arranged from Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. Although its only 60 km north of Bagamoyo you can't get from there by road as there is no crossing over the Wami River instead you have to drive on the inland road from Dar via Chalinze and Msata and turn right at Mandera which is 60 km from the village of Saadani. From the north, Saadani is 35 km south of the ferry at Pangani so we can arrange for the Private transport from Tanga Town to Pangani and then to Sadan.
